In memory of Audrey Kathleen Hepburn-Ruston, 1929-1993


Original caption of the photograph says: A straw hat became French entertainer Maurice Chevalier’s trademark some thirty-six years ago, but Chevalier is not a fellow to stand still and look back at yesteryear. At the moment he is costarring in a new film Love in the Afternoon in which he plays the role of private detective, complete with the bowler-type hat he is wearing here. Chevalier, with the aid of Audrey Hepburn who plays his daughter in the film, is shown breaking with the past by putting foot and hand into a stock of straw hats he has collected through the years. | September 7, 1957 (Paris, France)
